Scotch Type Fire Tube Steam Boiler

A steam boiler is a closed pressure vessel with water as the heat-absorbing fluid on one side of its surfaces and, on the other, passages through which the flame and flue gases generated by burning a fuel travel. In this boiler type the furnace is generally corrugated at large capacities, so that its longitudinal expansion under heat is accommodated and its resistance to external pressure is increased.
